about us

Daniel & Karen Olson
Antiques, Art & Accessories since 1982

Dan and Karen have over 45 years of experience buying & selling 18th & 19th century American Antiques with emphasis on early high-country furniture and related decorative arts.  We have 2 buildings with everything displayed and priced.  We are here about 75% of the time but it is best to call to confirm a time & day. We continuously sell to the trade, as well as beginners and advanced collectors and work hard to assure that we always have fresh merchandise on hand for our customers. The Olsons participate in many antiques shows ranging from those in the mid-west plus the mid-south but primarily shows in Pennsylvania, New York, and New England.  Daniel and Karen have advanced degrees in biology.  Daniel worked as an environmental consultant for many years, Karen taught science for 30 years until she joined Dan in the antiques business in 2001.

The Olsons are active in their community.  They are and have been members of the Antiques Dealers Association of America (ADA) since its inception in 1984. Dan grew up in Wisconsin, Karen in Ohio.  We met at Ohio State in 1967 when we were both working on Master’s Degrees in biological sciences.  Married in 1969, we initially lived in DC while Dan was in the Army, Karen was working on a research grant for National Institutes of Health.  At Cornell in 1971, interest in antiques began so we could furnish our empty apartment by going to auctions & sales.
